St: Yo 5 times loosely, insert hook
into space indicated, draw up loop even with loops on hook, yo, draw through all 6 loops(wiggling hook as
needed); ch 1 to close.
Directions:
Baby Squares: (Make 4, reversing colors B and C in rounds 2 and 4 of two of the squares.) With color A, ch 4, join with
sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 7 sc in ring; join with sl st in 1st ch. Finish off color
A.
Rnd 2: With color B, ch 2, (baby bullion in each of next 2 sts, ch 3) 4 times; join with sl st in top of 1st bullion. Finish off color B. Undo beginning ch 2. Rnd 3: Join color A with sl st in any ch 3 sp; (ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in same sp, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 1) 3 times; join with sl st in top of beg ch 3. Finish off color A. Rnd 4: With color C, sc in each st around, working 3 sc in each corner ch 3 sp (7 sc on each side); join with sl st in 1st sc. Finish off color C. Alternating squares
checkerboard style and holding squares right sides together,
whipstitch squares together through
back loops only.
Edging:
Join color A with sc in any corner; 2 more sc in same corner; (sc in next 10 sc, hdc in joining, sc in next 10 sts to corner, 3 sc in corner sp) 4 times, omitting last corner; Join with sl st to 1st sc. Finish off and weave in ends. |
