Gauge:
Do a swatch test of 20 dc by 10 rows 7 dc and 4 rows = 2 inches.

How to make link stitches: beginning link stitch: ch 4, dc in bottom loop of 4th ch from hook link stitch: ch 3, dc in top of dc just made one row below and around post.

*Special Notes: Leave a long tail at beginning, you have to weave all the way up the netting to the 1st dc row.

*Square must measure under the requist of 12 inches, it will stretch to fit. Actual measurement 11 1/2 to 11 3/4 inches. This is why gauge is important in this square.

Instructions:

Rnd 1: bL st, (L st) 4x, ch 3, yo, insert hook as to L st, yo, pull loop through, yo, and pull hook through two loops on hook, insert hook through 1st ch of beginning ch, yo and pull through all loops on hook (Your Links should be closed and form a ring). 6 Links.

Rnd 2: sl st into nest ch 3 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp as joining, ch 3, sc in same sp, *ch 3, sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 3, sc in same sp, repeat around, join with a sl st in 1st sc. 12 ch 3 loops.

Rnd 3: sl st into next ch 3 loop, ch 1, sc in same sp as joining, * ch 3, sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 3, sc in same sp, repeat around, end with ch 1, hdc in first sc to form last ch 3 loop. 24 ch 3 loops. ******Note: Work will be very ruffled.

Rnd 4: ch 1, sc in same sp as joining, ch 3, sc in next ch 3 sp, repeat around, end with ch 1, hdc in first sc to form last ch 3 loop.

Rnd 5 - 7: Repeat rnd 4.

Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in same sp as joining, ch 4, sc in next sp, repeat around, ending with ch 4 sl st in 1st sc, finish off. 

Rnd 9: With color B, join with a sl st in any ch 4 loop, ch 4, 2 tr, dtr, 3 tr (all in same sp as joining), *dc in next sc, 3 dc in next ch 4 loop, 3 hdc in next ch 4 loop, sc in next sc, 3 sc in next ch 4 loop, sc in next sc, 3 hdc in next ch 4 loop, 3 dc in next ch 4 loop, dc in next sc, 3 tr, dtr, 3 tr all in next sp, repeat around, ending with sl st in top of beginning ch 4, finish off. 25 sts between center dtr’s With color A, join with a sl st in any center dtr.

Rnd 10: ch 3, dc, tr, 2 dc (all in same st as joining), dc in each st across to next dtr, 2 dc, tr, 2 dc (all in same st), repeat around, ending with sl st in top of beginning ch 3, finish off. (option: you can continue with color A) With color B, join with a sl st in any center tr.

Rnd 11: ch 3, dc, tr, 2 dc (all in same st as joining), ch 2, sk 2 sts, sc in next st, (ch 4, sk 3 sts, sc in next st) 6 times, ch 2 sk 2 sts, 2 dc, tr, 2 dc in next st (should be center tr), repeat around, ending with sl st in top of beginning ch 3, finish off.

Rnd 12: With color A, join with a sl st in any center tr. ch 1, 3 sc in same st as joining, sc in next 2 sts, ch 1, sc in ch 2 sp, (ch 3, sc in next ch 4 sp) 7 times, sc in next 2 sts, 3 sc in center tr, repeat around, ending with sl st in 1st sc.

Rnd 13: ch 3, dc, tr, 2 dc (all in center sc), dc in next 3 sts, dc in ch 1 sp, dc in next st,(3 dc in next ch 3 sp, dc in next st) 7 times, dc in ch 1 sp, dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc, tr, 2 dc (all in center sc), repeat around, ending with sl st in top of beginning ch 3, finish off. 

Rnd 14: With color B sl st in any center tr, ch 1, 3 sc in same st as joining, sc in each st around, having 3 scs in center trs, sl st in 1st sc, finish off, weave in all ends.
