Rnd 1: Using a pastel color - Single crochet evenly around each square, being sure that there is an equal number of stitches on each side of all the squares.

Rnd 2: *Single crochet in next stitch, chain four, single crochet in next stitch, chain ten* around, making sure that each corner has single crochet, chain four, single crochet in it.

In a darker coordinating color - Join using the lattice method using only the chain four loops, leaving the chain ten loops free and on the top of the ghan.

Once the ghan is assembled, trim the entire ghan: single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, single crochet in each chain four loop around, with the corners being single, half double, double, treble, chain two, treble, double, half double, single.
