Materials

Worsted weight yarn:
Color A: white
Color B: blue
Color C: red
size H hook or size needed for gauge
Tapestry needle for weaving ends
Gauge: makes 7” square
Skill level: intermediate

Special Stitches:
Baby Bullion St: Yo 5 times loosely, insert hook into space indicated, draw up loop even with loops on hook, yo, draw through all 6 loops (wiggling hook as needed), ch 1 to close.

Directions:

With color A, ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 3, 3 dc, ch 3, (4 dc, ch 3) 3 times; join with sl st to top of beg ch 3. Finish off color A.
Rnd 2: Join color B with sl st in any corner, ch 2, 5 baby bullions in same corner, ch 1, (5 baby bullions in next corner, ch 1) 3 times; join with sl st to top of first bullion. Finish off color B, then undo beg ch 2.

Rnd 3: Join color A with sl st to first bullion in any corner, ch 4, (dc, ch 1) in next 4 bullions, [ch 1, sc in ch 1 sp, ch 2, (dc, ch 1) in next 5 bullions], repeat between [ ] twice; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 4. Finish off color A.
Rnd 4: Join color C with sc in first dc of any corner, sc in next 8 sts, (3 baby bullions in next sc, skip next 2 sts,  sc in next 9 sts) 3 times, 3 baby bullions in next sc; join with sl st to beg sc. Finish off color C.
Rnd 5: Join color B with sl st in sp between first and 2nd bullions in any corner, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, ch 3, 3 dc between next 2 bullions, (dc, 2 hdc, sc, sl st, 2 hdc, dc, 3 dc between next 2 bullions in corner, ch 3, 3 dc in next sp) 4 times, omitting last corner; join with sl st to top of beg ch 3. Finish off color B.
Rnd 6: Join color A with sl st in any corner, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc in same corner,[(ch 1, skip next st, dc) 7 times, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc in corner)], repeat between [ ] 3 times, omitting last corner; join with sl st to top of beg ch 3. Finish off color A.
Rnd 7: Join color C with sc in any corner, 2 more sc in same corner, sc in each st around (21 sc on each side), working 3 sc in each corner. Finish off and weave in ends.
