Worsted weight yarn (measures approx 3")
Size G Hook

Ch 4; work 9 dc in 4th ch from hk. Join with sl st to top of ch 3 (10 dc). Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 5 dc in same st as joining (6 dc). Ch 3, turn. Work dc in same st; work dc in ea of next 2 sts, work 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st, and 2 dc in top of previous ch 3. (9 dc). Ch 1, turn.
Sc in first dc, *ch 3, sc in next dc, repeat from * across ending sc in top of ch 3 at end of row.  Going up edge of dress, sl st in side of next dc sp, and then into next dc sp. To work wing, Ch 1, sc, hdc, dc, tr, ch 2, sl st in stop of tr for picot; ch 3, sl st into same dc sp. Sl st into same sp where head is joined and in next 3 dcs. Ch 7 for halo, skip 2 dc, sl st in next 3 dcs and into sp where head is joined; sl st into next dc sp. (opposite other wing). Ch 5, sl st in 3rd ch from hk for picot, tr, dc, hdc, sc, sl st; sl st in next dc sp going down other side, sl st to beg sc. Finish off; weave in ends.

Rnd 1: With right side of angel facing you, join next color with a sc in center dc on top of head behind the halo. Ch 5, sc in tip of wing, ch 5, sc in sc of wing, ch 5, sc in sc at corner of dress, ch 5, skip 3 ch-3 lps (edge of angel), sc in next lp, ch 5, sc in sc at corner of dress, ch 5, sc in sc of wing, ch 5, sc in tip of wing, ch 5, join with sl st in beg sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 3 dc in next ch-5 lp, in next sc 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc (corner sp), *3 dc in next ch-5 lp, sc in next sc, 3 dc in next ch-5 lp, in next sc 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc (corner sp); rep from * twice more; 3 dc in last ch-5 lp, join with sl st to top of beg ch 3.

Rnd 3:
Ch 3, *dc in each dc to corner sp, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in corner sp; rep from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch-3. (15 dc each side)

Rnd 4: Sl st into next dc, ch 4(counts as dc, ch 1),  (skip next dc, ch 1, dc) 3 times,*( dc, ch 2, dc, ch 1) in corner, (dc in next st, skip next dc, ch 1) across to corner, repeat from * , ending last repeat with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch 4; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 4 (9 ch-1 spaces per side). Sc in next dc, dc behind next ch 1 sp into ch 2 of rnd 4. *(Sc in next dc, dc behind next ch 1 sp into skipped dc of rnd 5) 8 times, sc in next dc. Dc behind next ch 1 into ch 2 sp of rnd 5, sc in next dc, (dc, ch 2, dc) behind ch 2 sp into ch 2 sp of rnd 5, sc in next dc, dc behind ch 1 sp into ch 2 sp of rnd 5. Repeat from * 2 times more. Sc in next dc, dc behind next ch 1 sp into skipped dc of rnd 5) 8 times, sc in next dc, dc behind next ch 1 sp into ch 2 sp of rnd 5. Join with sl st into starting sc. Sl st loosely into next dc, sl st into corner ch 2.

Rnd 6:
 Ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2dc) in ch 2 sp. * Dc in each st across, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch 2 sp. Repeat from * twice more. Dc in each st across, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beginning ch 3. Slip st loosely in next dc. (25 stitches per side)

Rnd 7:  Ch 4 (counts as dc and ch 1), (dc, ch 2, dc, ch 1) in ch 2 sp. *(Dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc) 13 times, dc in last dc before ch 2 space. (Ch 1, dc, ch 2, dc, ch 1) in ch 2 sp. Repeat from * 2 times more; (dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc) 13 times, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beginning ch 4. Finish off. (14 ch 1 spaces per side)

Measure work. If square measures 11 inches, use Rnd 10A. If square measures 11 1/2 inches, use Rnd 10B.
 
Rnd 10A:  Ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch 2 sp, dc in each dc, * (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch 2 sp, dc in each dc. Repeat from * 2 times more. Finish off.
